En 2016, la greffe de cheveux repr\u00e9sentait 96 % de toutes les proc\u00e9dures de restauration capillaire chirurgicales1. Cette proc\u00e9dure invasive dure entre 8 et 12 heures, et il faut souvent patienter 12 mois environ pour voir les r\u00e9sultats finaux. 86 % des personnes trait\u00e9es sont des hommes1. Ceci s\u2019explique par le fait que les sites donneurs des femmes ne sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pas ad\u00e9quats, car la forme et l\u2019\u00e9volution de la chute de cheveux diff\u00e8rent entre les sexes. Les techniques de greffe de cheveux pratiqu\u00e9es sont l\u2019extraction d\u2019unit\u00e9s folliculaires ou FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), et la transplantation\/greffe d\u2019unit\u00e9s folliculaires ou FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation). La technique FUE consiste \u00e0 extraire les follicules capillaires donneurs un \u00e0 un plut\u00f4t que de pr\u00e9lever une bande de peau par la technique FUT. La densit\u00e9 capillaire du site donneur s\u2019en trouve ainsi diminu\u00e9e, mais suffisante pour que personne ne le remarque.<\/p>

Cette proc\u00e9dure est adapt\u00e9e lorsque la calvitie est l\u00e9g\u00e8re, mais aussi lorsque le site donneur est insuffisant ou ne permet pas de pr\u00e9lever une bande de peau. Le cuir chevelu doit au pr\u00e9alable \u00eatre ras\u00e9, et le nombre d\u2019unit\u00e9s folliculaires extraites par s\u00e9ance est limit\u00e9. Cette technique est sans surprise plus longue que la technique FUT, du fait du pr\u00e9l\u00e8vement des follicules un par un. C\u2019est \u00e9galement une technique plus on\u00e9reuse. Le temps de convalescence est en revanche de seulement trois \u00e0 quatre jours. La technique FUT consiste \u00e0 extraire les follicules capillaires r\u00e9sistants \u00e0 la dihydrotestost\u00e9rone (DHT) d\u2019une bande de peau pr\u00e9lev\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re de la t\u00eate, pour les greffer dans les zones chauves. La proc\u00e9dure dure cinq \u00e0 huit heures. Comme pour toute intervention chirurgicale, une cicatrice fine est visible sur le site donneur. La technique FUT est adapt\u00e9e aux calvities de stade avanc\u00e9 en raison du grand nombre d\u2019unit\u00e9s folliculaires qu\u2019il est possible de greffer. La cicatrice peut \u00eatre assez douloureuse. \u00c0 la suite de la greffe de cheveux, de petites cro\u00fbtes se forment sur les sites receveurs et disparaissent environ 7 \u00e0 10 jours plus tard. Vous commencerez \u00e0 constater une croissance capillaire 3 \u00e0 4 mois apr\u00e8s la chirurgie. Les nouveaux cheveux seront au d\u00e9but tr\u00e8s fins.<\/p>
